Brian Miles

Network Solutions Engineer

Why did you decide to get into the IT industry and how did you get here?

“I was always interested in electronics, particularly TV’s and surround sound.  I had my own construction company and was injured, which led me to going back to school to pursue another dream, where I received a degree from McCann.”

Which of your skills benefits the success of tech42 most?

“I think that my construction skills are actually very beneficial for the position that I am in now.  I have a lot of experience from owning my own business with working with customers on a professional level.  It also helps me when I am working on cabling projects and having to basically build that out the way I would any of my construction projects.”

In your opinion, what are the core values of tech42?

“I think customer satisfaction is our number one value, we try to solve issues for our customers in a very timely manner and make sure that they find comfort knowing that.  When resolving issues, I think all of us really enjoy that end result, when you can hear that sound of relief coming from a client when they know the issue has been resolved and that they can trust you to do the same when something else happens.”

Tell us about one of your favorite projects with tech42?

“I enjoy any project where I get to work with and meet new people, but if I had to pick one I would say the La-Z-Boy project.  We partnered with their IT and corporate staff and traveled to different stores to get them up and running on a tight deadline.  It was fun because not only was it a learning experience for all of us but it was also fun to have to produce high end results on a timeline.  We would go into the stores early in the morning and have to be set and gone by the time they opened, it made it exciting!”

In a few words, what do you like most about working at tech42?

“My favorite thing is that we are always given the ability to continually learn new trends and things in the tech industry.  Mike, as an owner, is the best you could ask for because he is always encouraging you to grow both as a person and an employee.  We also have such a great team here, you have this amazing working/professional relationship with them and at the same time we all get along really well as friends.”

What are some things you like to do when you aren’t working?

“If I’m not weightlifting or at the gym I will be spending my free time with my family.  We do a lot of projects on the house together since I have the construction background it is something I enjoy as well.  I’m also a very big sports fan!”
