Matt Walsh

Senior Web Developer

Why did you decide to get into the IT industry and how did you get here?

“I always enjoyed tinkering with things when I was little so when it came time to go to college a field where I could continue to do that seemed like a good choice.  I went to Keystone College and studied Information Technology, sophomore year I had to choose between an Engineering track and a Business Information Systems track.  I decided to go with the Business Information Systems track (programming) which led to my career in web development.”

Which of your skills benefits the success of tech42 most?

“I’m very analytical so that definitely benefits me while creating software and doing web development for companies.  I also am very honest with my customers and it helps to open the field of communication when working on projects.  I think my calm demeanor adds to my skill set as well, because it helps to not get worked up over a situation and to also calm the clients down if an issue ever arises for them.”

In your opinion, what are the core values of tech42?

“I would say number one is honesty.  We are very honest with all our clients and each other.  This helps us to get to the solutions faster and gain the trust of the companies we are working with.  Secondary to that is our superior level of service.  It is important that we provide all of our customers with the highest level of service that we can provide to them.”

Tell us about one of your favorite projects with tech42?

“It’s a project that is always ongoing, but it would be for a life and disability insurance company.  I’ve been able to learn a lot about the industry while working on this and it’s my favorite project because even after all this time working with the company I am still learning as we go.”

In a few words, what do you like most about working at tech42?

“We are like one big family at tech42, it makes work feel not so much like work! The company culture is fantastic, it really promotes a positive work environment.”

What are some things you like to do when you aren’t working?

“Most of my time is taken up by my two children, chasing around my son and daughter is what I look forward to after leaving the office.”
