With over 22 years in the industry, Michael has seen the good and bad sides of IT. Armed with these many experiences, he is dedicated to finding the best solution for every customer. At tech42 he oversees the cloud services and software development teams and can often be found in the training room teaching a variety of technology and leadership topics.
Michael’s professional journey started at 16 years old while working for a computer store near his hometown. When the store decided to build a dial-up ISP (Internet Service Provider), he joined the team spending several years learning the ISP industry. Then, Michael worked as a developer maintaining mainframe systems and writing database driven websites to streamline banking operations. In these early jobs, Michael developed a passion to use IT for solving real-world business problems. His passion has been demonstrated over the last 15 years while helping small businesses grow with quality IT solutions throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Outside of tech42, Michael enjoys a variety of hobbies from reading to adventure sports and muscle cars. Michael is an avid international traveler and really enjoys leading mission teams into the third world, while his greatest joys are his family and youth group.
In the 20+ years Bob has been involved in the IT world, he has seen many changes. From 8” floppy disks to current media which can hold terabytes of data and local servers to cloud servers. He has seen many things that have changed and many things that have come full circle. To Bob, the one thing that remains a constant is people. There is no greater reward, for him, than the feeling of a warm smile and a “thank you” for the help he has provided to someone in need.
Bob started his IT career in the television industry. There was a need and it all just seemed to make sense to him. During his employment at Channel 22 in Scranton, PA he also participated as part of the strategic planning committee. This taught him to always look ahead and have a vision way beyond his expectations. Now, he is always looking for the next wave of technology, a great way to keep ahead of the curve. Bob says looking for the next wave is an outlook that can prevent businesses from stagnating with outmoded technology and it’s a philosophy that can make businesses more efficient and profitable, promoting growth.
Bob has many hobbies that keep him busy, such as music, motorcycling, mechanics, carpentry or home repair. Anyone who knows him will say “Ask Bob, he can fix it.” He has also volunteered his time to play for charities, such as Toys for Tots or when someone organizes a fund raiser to assist families in need.

Having natural people skills, David is the bridge between tech42 and our prospective clients. He has the gift of conveying customer’s needs in plain language and explaining how his team can help. David says, “When you have the right people behind you doing a great job, know the processes we go through here, and know our mentality is to treat businesses well, speaking about tech42 is no problem.”
David has made many strides in the business world. One particular experience of his was consulting businesses and saving them money with payroll and human resource services. Overall, he has worked with a variety of organizations, including not-for-profits and law firms, all looking to make a difference in their IT infrastructure. David has earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources and Business Administration.
Outside of work, he is a member of many networking groups, including Wilkes-Barre POWER, NEPA Networkers, and BNI of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Customer Relationship Manager
If your business or organization needs a better way to stay connected, you will most likely hear from Caleb. He is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of networking while his passion is in the configuration and troubleshooting of higher end local and wide area networking systems. Caleb is also extremely well versed in telecommunications and an expert at working with telephone line providers to save you money.
Some of Caleb’s certifications include Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching, Cisco Certified Network Associate Security, and a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist. He has had training in leadership and is a tech42 team leader!
After receiving bachelor’s degrees in computer science, mathematics, and history, Caleb interned for tech42 and was later hired. From someone who has learned in many areas of study, Caleb says that technology, in particular, keeps him fascinated because it’s a field that is constantly changing.
Lead Network Engineer
Brian enjoys the challenges of IT often with troubleshooting computers, setting up new PCs, or planning cable runs. On-site he is always thinking ahead, which helps prevent future issues, saving clients downtime and money. Whether assisting file organization or backup to prevent data loss, Brian takes his role very seriously, providing the very best in customer service.
Brian’s passion comes from what he feels is the biggest reward: providing a solution for a client to make their job easier. He has been trained in troubleshooting, Windows servers, network security and administration, just to mention a few. After a career changing injury, Brian was repairing his own computer and realized it came naturally. Brian later earned an Associate of Science degree in Specialized Technology. Out of four candidates, Brian was the only intern to be offered a job at Tech42.
When not working, he spends a great deal of time with his family. His office is wallpapered with pictures as he’s always ready to share some of the pride he has for his son’s accomplishments.
Drawing inspiration from his older brother, Brian has been working with computers for nearly twenty years. Brian’s is a multi-talented, multi-faceted engineer. He is always happy to help out any client at any time and spends much of his time sharing solutions with other tech42 technicians. When thinking about his position, he says, “The best part is repairing the problem…it’s always nice to find the solution and have a computer fixed.”
Brian has earned an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science. Brian worked many years as the lead PC technician at a consumer based computer solutions company. He spent a lot of time learning in-depth in not only the technical end, but the business end as well. Brian says what keeps him going is the every day problem solving.
Brian loves to tinker with gadgets and spends most of his free time with his wife and two children.
Nelson found his love of working with computers while serving in the US Navy. He spent the first years in computer support working for a local college, then moved on to a long career working in the banking industry. Nelson is a multitalented technician who loves a challenge. “Most of all, I enjoy helping people solve problems.”
Nelson has a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems and over 27 years of experience. He is certified in Laser Printer repair and has vendor certifications from Lexmark, HP and IBM. He is also Network+ and MCSA certified.
He spends his spare time enjoying time with his wife and his musically talented children. He can be found acting in the “Dunmore Cemetery Tour” every October and often times at Scranton’s First Friday dressed in Period costumes.
From creating and analyzing code to customer service, Matt handles both sides of web development projects. On the customer service side, Matt helps clients understand their software technology. Whether in person, over the phone, or by web conferencing clients receive optimal service.
Some projects Matt has contributed to include developing online stores for clients to sell their products and creating reports to give clients a broad scope of their online business. Matt has also worked extensively on a real-time web application to quickly create insurance quotes. Matt has had training in full-stack web development and database design. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and prides himself on his leadership training.
Matt keeps up with the latest technology by attending conferences, reading articles, and team discussion. He says his passion for IT ignites from facing new challenges every day.
Web Development Expert
Joanne handles the accounting department. She can be found helping clients with accounts receivable and answering any questions they may have about our service. Joanne says “I like customers to know that I’m always here to help them out.”
Joanne is credited with over 25 years of experience. Early on, she found herself in the accounting field while working as an auditor for a department store. Later, she ran the accounting department for a window and shade company, in Scranton, PA. Among her experiences, she has worked in human resources and office management. To keep up with technology, Joanne says she learns from our team by listening to their discussions, explaining that the techs are very knowledgeable and love what they do. She says what motivates her every day at tech42 are the challenges.
Outside of work, Joanne enjoys keeping up with her gardens and being with family.
Steve Tice is the newest member of the tech42 team and is usually the first voice our clients hear when calls are placed. Steve’s vast knowledge and passion for computers started at a young age when he and his brother, also in the I.T. field, would fix computers.
Steve’s background includes CompTIA, A+, Network+ and Cisco certifications. His ability to diagnose customer concerns make him a crucial piece in the day to day operations at tech42. “Getting to the bottom of the problem is first, then building a relationship with the customer is my primary goal. I get a great sense of satisfaction when an issue has been resolved and the customer can get back to work.” Steve is driven by the team concept and is always the first person to follow up with previous client tickets.
In his free time, Steve is an avid outdoors man. Whether he is on the soccer field or shooting hoops on the court, Steve is constantly on the move. Although, his two greatest passions outside the office are skiing and working on his car & motorcycle.
